took mom to the dr this morning. her swelling is down and her O2 was good enough to put back to 2 liters. all her blood work looks great & the dr. said she called us in because in mom's last lung x-rays they found "an odd mass." i started laughing and told the dr that had been found & tested years ago & is just scar tissue from when mom had valley fever long ago.
dr. said good and if she had known that she wouldn't have had us come in, but now that...

my #1 adopted son (jose) & his wife (angie) had a baby boy yesterday 11-25 at 9:20am after a full night of labor, the cord was wrapped around his neck and he has severe bruising on his face from trying to get him out as safe as possible...quit breathing at one point, but they got him going and last i heard he was doing fine.
he is officially;
Jonathan Francisco P.
7 lb & 19" long.
baby & mother are doing okay and jose was headed back to hospital to stay...

mom slept from about 8pm last night and is still sleeping. she is breathing well, but odd she hasn't even got up to go toidy. i'm going to try to lay back down and you watch now she'll get up.
jose came at the crack of dawn to work on the door. this has really been a project for him as he has had to cut the logs around it bigger for it to fit and raise the door to clear the floor so it can open.
these old houses nothing is easy to fix and always run into problems.

mom slept well last night, wish i could say the same.
once this mad rush of setting her up is over i have to try to get on a better schedule so i can get some rest.
i'm used to sleeping in, in the morning, but mom gets up around 8 or 9 am, which means i have to get up 2 hours earlier to get my back moving, coffee in me and get alive to take care of her.
then she doesn't go to bed until 10 pm and i'm used to staying up until 1 or 2am.
so i'm going to try to...

mom seems to be getting over the flu, but moms hygenist just called, said moms face looks swollen & she's still breathing shallow. she's going to try to get the home nurse to come look at her & give me opinion before i take mom to dr. and possibly expose her to swine flu...starting to worry :(
i'm going to call dr. to make sure she's in if i do need to take mom in.
got the answering machine that dr's office is out to lunch and call back after 2

mom called me a few minutes ago and said her left leg is swollen and throbbing.
i've called the dr. and am headed to mom's now to see what is going on.
will update when i know more.
hoping it's just sore from all the walking she had to do when we went to get her hearing aids.

got mom new hearing aids and she can hear perfectly (these are the latest and best).
now she keeps telling me to quit yelling .
sigh.
now i have to re-learn how to talk as it's been forever that i've had to yell for her to hear me

mom's hearing aid parts are in, so she doesn't know yet, but i made an appointment for 3:30 tomorrow up north, got a motel room for the night, canceled her meals on wheels for the next 2 days and canceled her hygenist lady from coming tomorrow.
i'm getting everything together here to go tomorrow and will go over this evening and let her know she's going on a trip, pack her bag and fill up the car

I would post pictures but am still having no luck there, so................

Last weekend we had a garage sell to get rid of our old junk, we made $700 in two days, I was very happy to get rid of the old stove, fridge, and even the toilet from when we remodeled the bathroom :) It gave us alot more room. Loving my new car, yes I traded in my yukon and got a fuel efficient family car. But I love it!!!! It's a 2007 Toyota Camry. Nice car to have, my payments are 6 dollars less...

mom can sure keep me on my toes!

i don't know how many of you want to read such 'details" about grandma, but i like to keep all updated.
as you know mom suffers from agraphobia (fear to leave her house), panic disorder (fear of having a panic attack--hence the agraphobia), and for some reason i haven't figured out yet a deep fear of bugs (remember that she used to be an archeologist and loved working in her yard).
so mom just sits in her chair all day and reads (my nightmare is finding books she...

mom goes to the doctor

monday i had to take a "day off" from the work i've been doing and take mom into the doctor for her quarterly checkup.
for her age she is in top physical condition. (much to my envy as she seems in better physical condition than me).
doc checked her ears and made sure they were free of wax so i can get an appointment to have her hearing aids checked.
which shall be an adventure...

brevana got to celebrate her birthday 3 times.
1. with papa
2. with mama
3. with grandma
after dinner of pizza and then birthday cake, we had the kids get into thier pajamas and then finally let brevana open her present from me. of course the batteries i wrapped well and taped up good, so it took her a bit of time to get them open;
