I am still here, but not posting anywhere much. After Dad died last February Mum was coping quite well at home but then fell and broke her hip/leg and she had a 12" steel pin inserted. She didn't get on too well in a post-hospital rehab so we placed her in a care home for a while - although I was not sure she would ever gain enough mobility to be safe alone again. Last weekend she said that this (care home) was now her home, she was happy there, and would we sell her bungalow.
My DW's condition has worsened and she has advancing rheumatoid arthritis now, although she's a gem and doesn't complain much even though in much pain. Our life has changed but we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago, and shall definitely be looking forward to many many more years. I'm fine, managing my neck and back pains, comparatively minor so I don't moan much (well, I am a man so she tells me ....... errrrr .... if you get my drift) but I'm just getting grumpier as time rolls on.
My daughter had an op last week "down below" if you get my meaning
and she stayed with us for a few days whilst I waited on her every need. Fortunately the scary possibilities following the tests and surgery have
proven ok, but she still has a ways to go.
Sorry for the gloom ............... there's better
Petethepanda and the other boys and girls are getting excited at Xmas approaching. I'm still fishing but cannot catch a thing, it's been the worse season since I can ever remember.
I should've first read up what y'all are getting up to, and will soon, but I have a quiet moment and thought I'd remember my friends with a quick post.
love and hugs
paul

. It was especially amazing when we actually met, as if we were friends
from years ago. I actually compiled a page with extracts from texts and emails that we'd shared, if you don't mind (although it's not really so
relevant as you didn't know him of course) I'll add a link to the page here. It'll not mean much to you all as such, but quite amazing what warmth
can be generated from extracts of the written word
